During his SEC career (with LSU and UA).... he is now 9-1 in SEC and National Championship Games. The 9 wins have come against teams ranked (per Wikipedia anyway): 1, 1, 1, 2, 2, 3, 3, 5, and 14.?And 7 of the 9 wins have been by double digits.?9-1 in championship games against teams ranked that high is flat out ridiculous.?
Would you bet against that man?

I love 'em, but the man has a terrible consolation bowl record. If he ain't play for a title, he leaves all his fricks at home.

Excellent post. According to most fans here he is just lucky all the time.

I guess you know you just ruined the day of a bunch of haters on this forum with that little factoid.

2001 will always be special for me. Seeing all those orange roses on the floor of the Ga Dome

And that lone loss was to a team coached by Urban Meyer. Tebow was unstoppable in that 4th quarter.
But still, Bama by 17.

Just goes to show that he is a coach that has honed his system and coaching skills, has some smarts, and is willing to work his arse off to make sure he wins on the field and in the recruiting battle.
I don't think there's anyone like him in the college game.
I was glad to hear that college coaching is no longer a challenge to him and that he's going to take Holtz's place on TV next year.

1) get the best players 2) get decent coaching.

I didnt mean to, honest.
I would never bet against him in a college football game.
Now Oklahoma and Utah, now thats a completely different story.

Pretty easy to do at Alabama. See Ohio State for similar results.

If Percy Harvin would have played
If Colt McCoy would have played
Mulligans don't count
If Georgia had one more play
Manti Te'o was distracted
If Shane Ray would have played
Not impressed.

While not perfect, Saban has dominated the college game. Even when he loses, it's close.
