An 8 team playoff will come within the next 5 years. The ACC commissioner has already said he is for it, and now I bet the Big 12's feels the same way. Factor in the fact that the SEC sees that they probably can't get two teams in now, they'll probably be for it now. And throw in the non-power 5 teams, and I think there will be enough push to get an 8 team playoff sooner rather than later.

Yep, and it won't have a damn thing to do with deciding who's number one. It will be about making sure "everyone gets someone in" and money.
