I ask because Blake is an improvement over McCarron and it's really tough for defenses to focus on Bama's passing or running backs when there's a QB who is a running threat in addition to a passing threat.

Alabama has never really made an effort to feature Sims' running ability.

Blake Barnett is the top dual threat QB and he is committed to Bama. He will enroll in January.

Good question. I would think Kiffin, if he stays, would have a lot to say about it.

IMO, not really, I think we still search for someone who is a good game manager. Not someone with just great physical ability. That's actually why Sims got the nod over Coker... cause he was better at reading defenses, knowing the plays, getting people set and in position, etc.

but hey, if they can do all that and got legs too... frick yeah we will take them and start them.

ETA: I also think it's hard to judge a QB coming out of highschool on how good they will be as a game manager and how good they will be at reading good defenses... So even though we recruit playmakers, the best game managers are gonna win the battle.
