Now that Joe T jr. has called it quits, who will be the next? Do we go find someone or do they promote John Thomas? Thomas has 20 years experience as a Head S&C coach.
I would like to see them get aggressive with the interviews and really try to raise the bar, but that with being said I was very impressed with conditioning this year. I know Pruitt had a lot to do with that, so does he get a say in who they bring in?
I think this will be another great hire that follows the recent trend. Let's hope the AD will allow for a nice pay bump, I would hate to see us lose out on the right guy because of financial restrants.

I don't know, but if they promote Thomas I'll lose it

No idea but I hope they go external with the hire.

So, if this guy has 20 years experience as a head S&C coach, how can they promote him into a head S&C position if he is already a head S&C coach? Wouldn't that be a lateral move?

In all honesty, this hire will telll us a lot about where the program is headed.

I agree, one of the most underrated hires that could have the biggest impact.

The tone it will set as well. Are we going to go out and try to bring in a guy who we feel is the best for the job? I like Coach T a lot as a person and I realize they wanted him more as a figure head of old school, UGA toughness while wanting to groom some up and comers to handle the science part... seems like it worked ok, but I think it is time that we shake up the family a bit and get more people from outside the program involved.

Any chance we can lure this guy back into the fold?

I bet he is doing better stuff than Dbol and T cycles these days...

I don't think he's into steroids anymore. He's rather small now compared to what he used to be. But if no one think he ever used they are kidding themselves. You don't get to 285 lbs of solid muscle while being that lean natty....even at 6'4.
