Didn't AU have a chance to win the division with a win in 2001?
That was a strange year because both teams played the following week due to 9/11.

Yes we did. We ended up "Co Champs" but lost to you and LSU at the end of the season. Then went on to the Peach bowl and got beat up by North Carolina...
Was at the Iron bowl that year and left mad. Real mad

We were almost a lock to win the division. We were 5-1 in the SEC going into that game.
The loss to bama dropped us to 5-2, then the next week we lost to LSU to drop us to 5-3. At 5-3 we finished as co-champs with LSU. We also had a loss to Syracuse, so LSU went to Atl and we went on to lose the Peach Bowl in Atl.
