All of a sudden Ohio State and MSU's schedules are almost identical. While MSU has a much more top loaded schedule

This is why lower ranked games shouldn't carry as much weight when calculating SOS.

Vegas isn't setting future odds based on how MSU played against UTM, and neither should the committee be even really considering these games

Agree 100%, but that won't be how the media discusses this.

I said this before OSU played Mich. St. If OSU wins out, they are in the playoff. They are a blueblood, and that will matter in the end.

If you are trying to make money, which obviously the playoff is, and you have OSU/MSU/TCU/Baylor sitting all together and deciding which one you want to maximize profits, the choice is easy. Those 4 teams will be close enough for:

1. TCU/Baylor to be eliminated based on sharing a conference title and playing 1 less game
2. MSU not winning its division
