Are you telling me that cops sometimes abuse their power and pick and choose where it is applied?
I thought wearing a blue costume meant you were a "hero"?
What is going on?!

frick the police. Many of them are fat statist pigs that take a shite on the Constitution on a daily basis. I used to think the black community was irrational with their fears of the police however with the advent of the camera phone and the internet I now understand.

Good points!
In reference to PB as he knows yes we did before the police force in Athens and CC was combined it was different.
I blame Jan Kemp for this, also.

Before Chuck Horton retired... Was even better before the county merge...

Is that his first of the year?

Chuck was a good guy, but he didn't pull any punches for the football team, at least not at the end of his tenure.

What do you mean by the end?

Let me guess, you are a cop?

When he retired and Jimmy got promoted... Around 2003, I think (can't recall the exact month/year).

I didn't deal with him during his last few years, but maybe this actually started when Adams came on the scene. UGA cops were never pushovers, but they followed many of us back to McWhorter and told us to keep the car parked. A few guys who were on the team at some point were UGA cops as well. You couldn't get away with rape, but you weren't getting pulled over and having your car searched.

Cops are out of control...considering how low their wages are and the lack of meaningful, training they receive it is no wander that there are a bunch of neer do wells who are unemployable at anything other than the infantry who become cops.
That being said the cops in Athens seem to be pretty hard on UGA athletes....and, in my opinion, that is a good thing...unless they are targeting athletes and allowing students to skate on the same things. I doubt seriously if that is happening. The citizens of the Athens metro area live and work in Athens Clarke County and many have almost nothing at all to do with the University. If a kid from the University totals another persons car that student should be taken to task for that...no matter if that student is a star athlete are a struggling journalism major....Tallahsse has a serious problem even if it is merely a PR problem (it probably ain't) and thank goodness Athens does not have that problem.....

Yeah, that sort of thing isn't uncommon, even with non-athletes. A lot of times, the cop thinks a driver is drunk but doesn't see a solid less-safe offense. In that situation, it isn't worth it to try to make a DUI case. More headache than its worth.
I can say that I saw a few players who were brutal to women get in trouble for it. Tons of players got arrested for driving on a suspended license in those days. Not sure if that's still an issue on the team.
I'll also say that Richt used to give UGA Police Officers his personal phone number and ask to be called if a player got into trouble. And the players would have rather gone to jail than have you call Richt in the middle of the night. Don't know if he still does that or not.

Blue is quaint nowadays. Ninja black or "Lookit me, I'm an 'operator'" multicam seems to be the norm.
