Still out of the top 4, this is GREAT motivation for the team.

Kinda seems like committee is determined to keep Bama out of the top four. With that said we win out and we are in.

I think that is good for us. Hopefully the team will play a chip on their shoulder,

they just had two SEC teams in the top 4 last week when they voted for Auburn at #3

True but im just saying the fact that TCU beating Kansas St is more impressive to the committee than Bama winning in Death Valley is a joke.

I would like to be higher, but we can't really complain. If we win out, we would have a win over MSU, LSU, Auburn, WVU, and whoever wins the East. I can't see us being any lower than #2. We would have a better resume than Oregon and TCU. Hopefully, that would put us in the Sugar Bowl.
I am interested in what the committee does about TCU and Baylor. I don't really see how they could leave Baylor out while including TCU because Baylor beat TCU and would have the conference title. However, TCU is currently ahead of them which tells me they don't value head to head that much. If they put TCU in, it means they want to reward teams for playing tough schedules (TCU beat Minnesota). If they put Baylor in, it means conference championships are the biggest criteria.

It's absolutely and utterly meaningless. TCU doesn't have a quality win left anywhere on its schedule. Kansas (3-6), Texas (5-5), and Iowa State (2-7). We have three...MSU, Auburn, and the SECCG. Win those and we'll blow right past TCU and maybe FSU as well.

The only benefit of a committee that I ever thought would be better is that old statement of "they are playing the best football in the country right now".
Linking together some good wins in a row looks to be very important to me.

Love the fact that TCU jumped us. I don't want to be in the Top 4 until it matters, which is after the SECCG.

And as far as where in the top 4, IMO where we are seeded is only important in that we need to play in New Orleans, IMO. If Oregon is 1, we need to be 2 or 3. If FSU ends up 1, we need to be 4. We don't need to go out to Pasadena to play Oregon.

I'd prefer playing in Pasadena, personally.

Yeah, but we have a better chance of playing in front of a friendlier crowd in NO. I don't think all that many Bama fans will fly to a semi in Pasadena with the final the following week in Dallas. But large numbers will drive to NO.

The selection committee will seed the two semifinal games to prevent the top seed from playing in a "road" environment.
If Oregon wins out they will have 10 power five wins.
Bama wins out we will have 9.
FSU will have 12
TCU will have 9
Baylor will have 8
MSU would have 9 winning out and 8 losing to us.
SOS will only help so much, MY bet is FSU and OU are 1 and 2.

You forgot about Miami, the only game they're an underdog in.

Remember the Rose Bowl, we'll win then.
