This. Mizzou leaving the Big 12 really shocked the original Big 8 members because Mizzou was a founding member of that conference. And, it pissed off Texas and Oklahoma because they thought they could control the rest of the conference outside of Nebraska and Colorado.
They truly didn't expect Mizzou to leave.
Which is why DeLoss Dodds at Texas remarked soon after Mizzou left, "Our bad years are better than their good years."

I'm just saying, I don't have anything against Mizz in particular and don't really care who is going to be the whipping boy in the SECCG.
I just think it is a shame that a mediocre team like Mizzou joins the SEC and gets to beat up on a down UF and TN and having no legitimate challenger besides an underachieving Georgia team. There are 5 better teams in the West than than Mizz.
