CMR getting a little pissy when a caller said it was the worst display of defense he had seen.He said I'm sure you have coached a bunch of games after the caller hung up

Yea I get that he likes the 'in the arena' stuff and I understand that to a certain extent for sure. But damn you can't watch that game and come up with any excuse besides the fact that our D got worked like they were collecting $5 bills under a bridge

He needs to take some criticism. He's paid millions of GA taxpayers' dollars annually to WIN football games. He needs to realize he let the state down and didn't have those boys prepared.

I'm pretty sure he's not paid by taxpayers - doesn't the AA pay his salary? I believe that's separate

Taxpayers? Are you retarded or stupid? Well, which one is it?

CMR should accept some responsibility.

Yea, his arena comebacks have gotten old. He needs to man up and just admit that his team was overconfident and not ready to play a hard-nosed football game against a major rival. As many times as he has lost to Florida you would think that was not possible but that's the way it looked to fans and objective observers alike.
Posted on 11/3/14 at 8:31 pm to davesdawgs
Ramik Wilson even admitted they were overconfident and that they weren't ready to play. Not that we needed someone to actually admit it, even Stevie Wonder could've told you that after the game. Pretty sure I read that after the game Thornton still said they didn't think Florida belonged on the same field, or something equally stupid along those lines.

Damn, that it was I said in another thread. Guess they have been reading the over-confident posts on here. After all, didn't almost everyone, except for a few of us, say that we were going to blow them out? I stand by my statement of that trick play was the biggest reason. The Dogs came in believing that they couldn't be beat...and that is the root of it.

Including the coaches too...right?

I thought we would win by a couple of TD's even without Gurley. Our OL looked dominant vs Arkansas and Missouri and our defense was tough and creating lots of TO's. I think the big positive TO ratio might have contributed to over confidence by our defense. TO's are fickle and if you depend on them to win games fate is going to catch up with you sooner rather than later. We scored the first TD in the game and then got that fumble in Florida territory and our guys were thinking: oh boy, this is going to smooth sailing again. Little did they know that the vicious cross winds plus a less experienced QB would all but force Florida to run it down our throats which they did.

I thought we would win in the same fashion as Tennessee. Now I can't prove that, but I did pick Florida to cover the spread in my office pool. I don't know why so many people on here expected us to blow Florida out. Let's look at some facts here:
-Florida is down a loss because of inclement weather, so really they would have been 4-3 had that game happened
-Florida was one dropped pass away from beating rapidly improving LSU team, so literally a dropped pass and a canceled game from being 5-2.
-Yes, they scooted by Kentucky and Tennessee, which is actually pretty impressive considering all of Driskels turnovers
-Yeah, the score was 42-13 against Mizzou, but Florida's defense held Mizzou to 119 yards of total offense, just think about that for a minute. Yeah, they lost to Indiana, but they are still a 7-2 team, and were able to win at Williams Brice, something we haven't done in about a decade. Driskal turned the ball over what, 6 times in that game?
-This team was tied at halftime with Alabama solely on their defensive play.
All of this being said, anybody who thought we were going to blow them out hasn't watched much tape or read many stats.
However, we are the better team, and our mental state should have been head over heals above Florida's. The loss was inexcusable. My predicted outcome was 27-20, boy was I off.

Okay, the congress critter is an idiot.
The coaching staff lost the game on Saturday. Again. Enjoy it. Embrace it. If you cannot see it, send more money to the UGA.

CMR should take all of the responsibility. Defense played like shite, but the offense didn't exactly set the world on fire.

Out of curiosity...if the coaching staff had prepared hard and gotten ready for the game best they could, and the players had taken Florida lightly (As they have admitted they did) what would the outcome have been? If you have ever played football at the high school level or above you know the answer to this quesion.

He is criticized for every decision, play called, substitution he makes in a game. The criticism is mutiplied by 10 afer a loss. I'm sure he is aware of the mistakes he made and doesn't need an arm chair QB that never set foot on a football field to point out his mistakes. I would get a bit testy, too.
