I can get behind that assessment. It would seem that he began to pull his Prince Valium routine after he handed off playcalling duties to CMB. When you look at how fired up he was on the sidelines in the first half of his tenure at UGA vs the second 7 years, it becomes pretty apparent. The '07 Gator Stomp was, to me, the last modicum of excitement I can recall seeing from him, save nearly getting ejected last year on one of MANY shitty calls. Vandy, wasn't it?

CMR... $3,500,000.00 a year...$70,000.00 a week...$10,000.00 a day...$420.00 an hour...$7.00 a minute...$.12 a second...

Thats 24/7...365 days a year, awake, asleep, taking a shite, scratching his nuts, coaching or ministering in Costa Rica... Imma in the wrong business.

Exactly. The $10k/day stat is the one I'm always throwing around, because it goes to put everything in perspective. It's one thing to think, "$3.5M a year is awfully low for a FBS HC, but maybe that's right." It's totally another to figure in that this motherfricker is paid this amount to WIN FOOTBALL GAMES.

As another human being, I think a lot of what he does is fantastic. By that measure, Tebow is a great guy now that he's taken that awful jersey off. As a football fan, I don't give a rat's arse about the heathen pygmies in the jungles of some literally God-forsaken Third World country. Steer young men into adulthood making good decisions on your own time. Wanna give them a leg up on life? Put 'em through that Arch with a NC ring on their finger.

Richt needs to be held responsible. If he can't coach an elite SEC team and we all KNOW at this point that he cannot, then he needs to go. I wonder how many UGA fans really believe that Richt will take this team any higher. I bought in last year because of Murray and I accepted the excuse of injuries. I bought in this year because of Pruitt. Richt has brought his coaching down. When do the fans and admin stop reading the 1000 page book called "Excuses by Mark Richt". He's been writing it since 2001! It's time for a change, he will never get it done!

I really can't take any of your posts seriously. You think your opinions are facts and will probably call anyone who disagrees with you a fricktard as well. I bet you're like the guy who sat behind me at the Boise game in 2011 who was actively rooting against the team so that we would lose and Richt would get fired.

What was the prize if they won? They couldn't reach the goal they wanted, so what was to gain by beating Utah or Ok?

So, if there isn't a National Title at stake you are ok with laying down?

I don't want to see Richt fired but his response to the caller was awful. Richt fell back on belittling the caller by saying "I don't know how many games you've coached".

Richt should not judge himself against some guy who has never coached he sould judge himself against the best of his peers.

Richt's tone and comments were like saying "woe is me. I have no control over events".

What I find ALMOST amusing is that many on here want Richt to be another Saban....yet Saban would have gone off on the callers a whole lot worse than Richt did, yet you all criticize Richt for doing that. Seems no matter what he does you all will criticize him.

Nick Saban can tell any caller whatever he wishes with his resume. Mark Richt has no room for discussion with his accomplishments, or lack thereof recently.

It's a joke that UGA makes Richt do the call in show (not just UGA but all schools honestly). No matter how you feel about his results on the field (yes, I've been frustrated too), the fact is he knows significantly more football than anyone that calls into that show. Having to listen to them ask stupid questions would drive me crazy, and callers are lucky he isn't a huge dick to them, I wouldn't blame him if he was.

Is Richt the best college coach? No. Do I have complaints about his teams? Yep. Does our yearly decision to not even show up for a game piss me off? Hell yes. But also pretending like he hasn't done anything good for UGA is a joke.

All valid points. I feel though as if Richt does a lot less with fan interaction than some other coaches. I live outside of Columbia, SC now and Spurrier does a call in show at a Wild Wing restaraunt every Thursday night for several hours. I can't see Richt ever doing anything in person where fans are involved.

Yea Richt and Spurrier are definitely different in that regard. I get the impression Spurrier likes having a microphone a lot more. He's a lot better with it too only Miles and a few others are as entertaining in my opinion.

No, I was not at the Boise game and you can keep your opinion also. I make very valid points about Richt that has been pissing off all the Disney Dawgs for years. The truth hurts sometimes, look in the mirror.

This team is a failure and Richt should be let go.
