Next year, we'll return a decent amount on defense (minus some true star players in Prewitt, Golson, and Bryant). Our offensive line should be one of the top in the league and we return every RB.

We have the talent to win eight plus games and, depending on QB play, could win even more.

Basically, we've seen glimpses of greatness from Freeze in the past three years. However, we'll really know how much of a program builder he is next season when he breaks in a new QB and loses leadership on defense.

Do they even HAVE one of these lined up yet? I mean a legitimate SEC quarterback.

You guys have a couple of QB's that will be 3rd year sophomore's. Surely one of them will be serviceable.

People keep saying that but I really doubt it. I think Buchanan will get the job.

We have two talented redshirt freshman who have spent two years in Freeze's system. One of them was a top 250, four-star QB and is a pocket passer; the other was the MVP of the Elite 11 camp in Dallas and is a runner.

Obviously, you'll take your lumps with first-year starting QBs. The talented OL, returning RBs, returning WRs (Treadwell, Engram, Core, Attaboy, Pack), and above-average defense and special teams will definitely help in breaking the new starter in.

After the last two weeks, it is starting to look like the defense's numbers were a schedule-aided mirage and the offense was being propped up by the same thing. Danny wants to win TOP, that's why he still runs it about 60% of the time. The problem is that people were right to worry about the offensive line before the season, and the running backs are very average.

The D is obviously strong and very talented and they hang in there for most of the game but it's been easy to see over the past couple of weeks that they're struggling to maintain momentum in the 4th QTR. Players are getting injured. Cramping up. Unable to really make the difference they want to make having already played close to 30 minutes as we begin to roll into the 4th QTR.

because while Freeze had one really good recruiting class and another pretty good one, Ole Miss doesn't have the depth on defense. They don't have a strong interior line either. Injuries, cramps, etc happen. It's replacing those guys and still remaining strong that's the difference between having a good defense and a great one.

So true. I know it takes time. I guess we just have to take our lumps and hope he's building it the right way. These past 2 losses have been among the most frustrating of my lifetime. That probably has more to do with high expectations than the HUNH offense though.

You're living on reputation.

It has been so long since you've done anything as good as THIS, you really need to step it up.

Just looked at your roster. Kincaid was the elite 11 mvp correct? I thought I remembered Ryan Buchannan was an elite 11 invitee as well but I didn't see him on the list.

My scenic SEC falls thread was a tribute in many ways. I wish more people would attempt those types of threads.

I think both were invited but I'm not sure. Buchanan looks extremely polished so far while Kincaid is raw and very athletic. I'm sure both will find a role sort of like Wallace and Brunetti last year. I hope so anyway.

We still don't have the depth that the big boys have yet. After the 15 round fight with LSU we just didn't have enough talented bodies to fill holes, especially on the O line. If we have a better O line then we would assert ourselves even more. Hopefully the talented lineman we have that are Fr. and RFr. will pan out in the next couple of years to help our defense that pretty much brings everyone back next year.

not even close

BUT

We have some ballers waiting in the wings that I hope will pan out. Freeze hasn't really recruited a bunch of stars that haven't done well so far so I trust him completely on that front.
