Alabama should be ranked about 6th right now, based on what they've done.
TCU and Oregon should be ahead, for sure.
The media is stupid and goes by their "eye test," but those polls are irrelevant now.
The committee actually makes you earn your ranking, so it will take Alabama longer to move up the polls in that one.

I can see your point with Oregon, but TCU and Alabama share a common opponent (WVU), and Alabama looked much better against the fightin' hillbillies than TCU did. Granted, TCU has better wins on their schedule.

See, I wish the committee (like the BCS computers) would do away with (or at least stongly de-emphasize) the "eye test," but they don't appear to have done so. The only reason LSU is ranked as low as they are (#19 last week) is due to "eye test" considerations stemming from our loss at Auburn. The composite computer ranking--built only on who you have beaten and lost to--actually has the Tigers at #9. So the committee is apparently not immune to "eye test" subjectivity. And maybe that's a good thing; there's an argument to be made for the human element. But you can't simultaneously decry the "eye test" and praise the committee.
