Auburn was lining up for a play and an eventual touchdown.. With not only 5 players in the back field but 12 men on the field.
If Antine has pic or video thanks.

Relax.

It hurts, but be proud of the way we fought.

This team is special and I can guarantee there's one more moment left this season. Just wait.

I think we win out. Before the season started I thought we would split with Alabama/Auburn and LSU/Texas A&M.

Would love nothing more.

Apparently, we've already lost to Arkansas and Mississippi State.

Despite the setbacks and injuries, and the fact that we were a mere two inches from scoring a TD and taking the lead late in the game last night, you're a fool if you don't recognize that this group, collectively, are fighters.

We'll likely be given the opportunity to send Alabama or Auburn to the SECCG come November 29th. More importantly, we'll be given the opportunity for redemption. I have a weird feeling that this Egg Bowl, no matter our outcome in the Arkansas game, is gonna be one of the nickname games.

It's one play. It didn't cost us the game. It sucks but we had a lot of chances to close the door on Auburn and win the game and we just didn't do it. Had we not let them throw a prayer down the field on that drive to convert a third and long, that play never happens.

They had about 3 prayers thrown down field and they were all answered

They need to check to see if any walkons are missing because I swear that AUB has done some kind of human sacrifice to the devil to get the luck they have.

I don't see how throwing to 6'2 receivers down field when covered BT a 5'8 corner is luck

Coates was doubled but he was giant compared to Golson

Our defense gave up several cheap, long plays, which they have not done all year.

This was the first game we needed the offense to bail out the defense.

On the long TD, Golson was in position for the PBU, he just swatted at it and whiffed.

I only remember one completion to Coates that could really be credited to his size advantage. The others were either due to a total breakdown in coverage, or Coates just working himself open.

Its one illegal play that cost an easy touchdown... Two penalties were missed in doing so.. I'm not saying it cost the game.. I'm saying this is one of many penalties the refs did not call.. One of several holds, helmet to helmet, and face mask penalties..
So put on your big boy pants and just observe the facts i presented to enlighten you and others.

If you think that's what I was referring to , maybe. But we both know Auburn has had a string of extreme fortune to win many games over the last 2 years.

You are talking about Ole Miss for a large number or the first two right?

I'm telling you right now if you did a play by play for holding and blocks in the back your penalty yardage would be near ours.

Honestly he was a step behind and Marshals throw was short. For a short ball though he was in position. Duke used his size a good bit though too.

These losses suck when talent matches up well between teams and things don't bounce your way. There isn't margin for error when playing a top 5 team at home

ETA: I admit the LT fumble was a stroke of luck. What is up with the Bo Wallace fumble? Guy is a effing moron for trying to reach over for a 1st down and fumble. He holds it down like he should and it is 3rd and inche . Then he blames "forward progress and being lucky" for him making a bonehead play

I love how it is moronic when Bo Wallace tries to stretch for a first down, but if some other QB does it, it is called effort.

Was it one play? They were saying on sports radio in Memphis this morning that they had 12 men for that entire drive. I don't remember how many plays were on that drive, but they were saying you could go back through the film for every one of those plays and do the math.

I haven't confirmed this myself yet. I usually rewatch every game we play sometime mid week, but idk if I'm gonna be able to bring myself to do it this time.

ETA I now see that a thread has been started on the rant on he subject, and everyone laughed it off as false. So maybe Peter Edmiston was wrong.

On 2nd and 1 scramble? He didn't 'have' to have it on that play. The point isn't about it being boneheaded buy he knowingly tried to stretch which anyone will tell you is risking ball security. If he got it then it is a "great play" but doesn't affect risk involved. This isn't the goal line where a quick stretch over ends the play before a possible fumble.

Just saying he complained about "forward progress" in his interviews after he made a forward move trying to stretch out with the ball. I bet he would have complained if they called him down and he stretched for a 1st down
