Overreaction, or strong possibility?

I can see how he may feel that he has done all he can and it's time to retire. But if the recruiting class holds we'll be in good shape in no time.

Id say it's a strong possibility and I wouldn't blame him if he did.

But like Garnet said if we can keep this class in check and get rid of Ward we could bounce back.

You pretty much nailed my thoughts about it.

Wouldn't be surprised if he did, but we are still recruiting well. Hope the rest of our season doesn't make our recruiting worse.

I know he considered retiring after the team bottomed out in 2008 and showed no signs of life in its final 3 games, but then we turned it around into our best 4 year period in school history. It really will depend on that class, Spurrier can evaluate the tools he'll have for next season and determine if its worth coming back for or not.

I just hope he doesn't wait until the last minute if he does leave.

I also hope he doesn't leave.

Overreaction. If he was the reason we were losing then maybe its a possibility, but outside of the stupefying continuance to put the game in Thompson's hands hes been fine

42-11 from 2010-2013 makes his decision a little different than what he was feeling at the end of 2008.

the biggest question for him would be if he wants to forge new relationships with what is hopefully multiple new coaches on his staff.

Carolina's been tied (1) or ahead (3) in the fourth quarter...4 of the 5 loses. that's a different kind of problem than what was occurring from 2005-09. Spurrier's ego keeps him on the sideline for 2015.

I hope not, but Mike Dantonio keeps looking like a solid successor prospect.

Probably, combination of age and the losing. Going to miss the guy, he did great things for our school.

This is the key, IMO. I just don't see Steve Spurrier going out on a down note.

He won't go out a loser, his pride won't allow it. None of the defense coaches are or should be safe though (except maybe Grady, he walked into a shitty hand this year.)
