The point was in response to being ineligible forever. Cam is a perfect example that you just have to make a player ineligible then ask the NCAA for reinstatement.

But the NCAA couldn't prove Cam took anything, whereas there is no dispute Gurley did. So Cam never surrendered his amateur status.
