Several posters have mentioned that this is the final year for Penn Wagers as an SEC ref. I'm looking forward to celebrating his final game: which do you think it will be?
Here are the final regular season SEC games:
* LSU @ Texas A&M
* Arkansas @ Missouri
* Tennessee @ Vanderbilt
* Kentucky @ Louisville
* South Carolina @ Clemson
* Georgia Tech @ Georgia
* Auburn @ Alabama
* Florida @ Florida State
* Mississippi State @ Ole Miss

There will be a little extra this year in his stocking if he calls the Iron Bowl.
REC will be working.

Please. Nobody outbids Auburn when it comes to buying refs. Last years IB was a fricking masterpiece. It cost 35K to get that last second put back on the clock so we could run the ball back for a touchdown and wreck the world of gumptards all over for the year.
We have a special slush fund specifically for the Iron bowl, followed closely by the LSU game. We like to frick up some corndogs too from time to time.

You need look no further than Mark Right for your woes. Grow a pair.

Wow, way to read a lot of stuff into a post that wasn't already there. You Dawgsessed, bro?
Seriously, though, I've watched Wagers call games for many, many years, and I would really like to see his final game. I've never been clear about whether officials are randomly assigned to games, if certain refs are more likely to get certain teams and/or rivalry games, whether it's a seniority or prestige assignment, etc., and I'm hoping someone here might be able to contribute some insight.

We can take this one off the list, right? ACC refs?

Penn's family is from Eastern KY, seems like we would get some homer points but it never works that way.

On a side note, I would love to see one of the long-time refs write a book about his years on the job. Lots of coaches do that, but I don't recall ever seeing a book from a ref's point of view. Would be fascinating to read. I wonder if there's any clause in their contracts that prevents them from doing this?
