The first drive was 5 plays and 22 yards and should have been a 1st down again but our TE did not make a catch. The next 2 series were stopped at 3 and out in large part due to run blitzes and some good plays by Arky. The next series, we made them pay for cheating up by scoring on a long pass. The next series, we burned clock and pinned them. The final series, we ran the ball for 5 minutes...

The most important thing is we had no turn overs and made Arky play on long fields in the second half. They didn't have enough time.

Now, if we stayed pass and blitz happy and they got a few turnovers and quick scores, I bet the same people here would be bitching about the play calls...

I just rewatched the game...after a night to reflect and a rewatch, I think I have to agree with Cracker on this. Its frustrating to watch live because you just want them to keep going balls out but, it was the right call.

We were a little conservative but, Arky made a few plays on D and we just didn't execute well in the 3rd on O. On D, we gave them a lot of help in sustaining drives with stupid 15 yard penalties all over the place. The final score makes that game look a lot closer than it actually was. We kept it all in front of us and didn't give up huge plays.

Bottom line, when we HAD to have something, we got it, timely score, timely turnover, timely stop, and then ran out the clock.
