Leave it to Georgia to have a law to blackmail people into protecting their colleges

It was actually a bill written and suggested by a GA rep that was a Bama fan during the textbook scandal. So, thanks Gumps

ETA: And the point remains, these guys aren't lawyering up to present some united front against Gurley, Winston, and the nameless others who they've had sign autographs because they fele this is a cause worth fighting for. They're lawyering up to protect their asses from the hell that they have unleashed. Gurley could potentially pursue charges for blackmail (a felony in GA) and the University could seek damages for lost revenue (which would really be fricked up considering the root issue of being able to profit off of ones likeness, but it's still possible). These guys have a hell of a lot more to lose than to possibly gain (Nothing. They have nothing to gain).

I never got to it in the HGMF thread, but god speed Durden. You shall have your vengeance, in this life or the next.

Exactly this.

When will the next student-athlete scratch out another autograph for one of these scumbags? They have pretty much screwed the pooch and any future income genreated from their autograph business.
