Did Gurley get paid by more than one dealer to sign memorabilia?

It seems like the guy that turned in Gurley was mad at him for something. What on earth could a profiteer be mad at if Gurley provided some inventory for him?

From reading the GA board, it seems that one motive is that "possibly" Gurley signed stuff for other dealers.

If that's true, could he have been paid for that work too? Surely he wouldn't do it free for one dealer and not for the other, would he? He doesn't seem like a dumb kid to me.

This is either going to go one of two ways in my humble opinion.

1) the dealer that turned him in fails to show the money trail and Gurley comes back after 2 or 3 games

or

2) possibly a longer investigation into other dealers that have signed memorabilia and this takes forever

This sucks for Gurley and UG. I still don't understand why football players just don't get it. Stay in school, do your time and go get your NFL check. Eat fish sticks and drink cheap beer in college if you don't have loads of money to spend. Hell, that's what I did.

My guess is after they see the backlash against the snitch, the other dealers won't even begin to cooperate with the NCAA investigation.

He's mad because he thought he was the exclusive person getting gurley autographs. Gurley eventually started signing for other people too, which essentially flooded the market and devalued the original dude's merchandise.

So he got pissy and now ruined hundreds of thousands of lives over a few hundred bucks. Hope he's happy.

A couple of things

1 - the popular rumor is that the main dealer was/is a UF fan - look for that tidbit to ramp up the vitriol leading into the WLOCP

2 - what i am hearing is that TG was under pressure from his mother. Again, rumor, but he grew up dirt poor and I am hearing that mamma was asking for help keeping food on the table abd to do other stupid shite, like keep the lights and water on

The thing that gripes my arse more than anything else is the 1/2 game suspension of Manziel, who had plenty of family money.

The ONLY thing that would make all of this right in my mind would be if TG winds up getting a 1/2 game suspension against Charleston Southern

I am very disappointed in UGA for not backing TG IF it is true that he is denying this

We aren't talking big amounts of money either way. Doubt there is a money trail over $400 dollars. Even a few thousand dollars.

Surely Gurley was smart enough to do everything by cash. Even if he didn't use a middleman to get the cash, there isn't really going to be a provable money trail unless the money is big.

It's not like this is some kind of global transaction with international banks.

From my understanding and reading both Reddit AMA's which the OP is highly likely to be the same person that turned Gurley in, Gurley pissed him off by going to other dealers too. Accuser didn't like Gurley flooding the market with more autographed items or Gurley wanted too much money for the autographs, or both.

In his first AMA, OP talks about how stupid the Johnny Football dealer was for turning in evidence and subsequently being blacklisted by all other dealers and college players. OP says he would never turn someone in because that's bad business.

Next AMA admits he is mad that Gurley is becoming greedy and unloyal. He states ESPN has found out that Gurley is signing autographs for money and is asking everyone they can if true or not. Seeing the Gurley autograph business is about to be shutdown and already flooded, he uses this "evidence" of Gurley signing autographs. This video and pictures allegedly show a black male with dreads in a car, but you can't ID that person as being Gurley and there is no proof of money being exchanged. He is now shopping the video and pictures to get as much money as he can before another dealer does.

They get it, but they also see other players getting away with it. Anyone that doesn't believe little Johnny Football got paid to do the same thing is just crazy, and he didn't even need the money. He had plenty of money from his parents to be out having a good time, but Gurley might not, and why should he be punished for the same thing. I think Ga should take a chance and play him, because nothing is probably going to come of this, and why risk a lost, and also ruin this kid's chance at the Heisman.
