True, BA and him are definitely the scape goats. That does not mean they dont deserve critisism, because they do, but people immediatly blame everything on them.. just kinda like alabama fans are using their QB as their scape goat when it somes to Tolliver shutting down Cooper.

Take out JWills run right before half when Bama sold out to stop the middle and he averaged 3.2 YPC on all other carries. Collins averaged 2.2 and Marshall was a blistering -0.5.

Bama absolutely shut down our run. The only way we were going to win that game was throwing the ball.

Personally, the only gripe I had all night was when Chaney called a pass play on 2nd and 3 on our 2nd to last drive of the night. That should have been a run in my opinion.

Now to discredit my opinion. Derby, who was the target, was open but Allen's pass was batted down by a DL. So, in essence, it actually was a good call by Chaney but wasn't execute to perfection.

However, it still should have been a run IMO.

Yeah,
Brandon Allen had 9 carries for 5 yards.

Collins had 6 attempts. Seriously? I realize he was suspended

BA had 49 touches, let that sink in.
The RBs had 3.4 yards per rush combined. Alex Collins was ineffective and fumbled on one of his first carries.

Also if people actually listened to the PC, he explains we get really thin at OL as the game goes along and moreso this week bc of someone (can't remember) being held out and Skipper on a gimpy leg.

It explains why we seem to freak out and throw more towards the end of the games...just run out of gas and can't block as well at that point imo. Need more bodies.

His head wasn't in that game at all. Suspended for a quarter, immediately herp derped a field position touchdown to Alabama upon entering the game, and could barely break the line of scrimmage afterward.

Coming away from that game, I'm pretty optimistic for the rest of the season, but now I'm a bit worried about Collins.

Anytime we have to depend on the passing game to win it, were screwed. If we can't run, we are gonna lose.
Period

Can we get a fricking FG kicker?

Hedlund better be some crazy hybrid of Adam Vinatieri and Morten Andersen next year if we're shirting him.

I understand that Bama had been shutting us down, but did anyone feel like we fully committed to establishing the run game? Does anyone else feel like Chaney has complete drives where he's pre-determined, "I'm not going to run the ball a single time this possession, no matter how many people they drop back in coverage!"

Same here. Didn't feel it for the TAMU or Bama games...as close as we got. But I have felt this one for a few weeks now at least.

No. He's a Texas native that graduated from North Texas. Safe to say...he is just a pro fan. He jumps on the TCU bandwagon when they are good. His extent of college fandom regards who he wants the Cowboys to draft.

From 247 -

quote:

BA said it's not an excuse, but it was raining and the ball was wet and Hogs couldn't get a dry ball in for the entire second drive when it ended with Kody fumbling. He kept repeating he isn't saying that as an excuse and by the way he was asked that question didn't volunteer the statement. He said he didn't know what the confusion was the refs or what but the Hogs weren't allowed to get a dry ball in the entire drive

Otis asked the question so he's just trying to get some attention for asking the question.
