I think Florida is within their rights to suspend him and probably ought to based on the charge. A university is not a court of law, and some of the problems we have today are because people act as though they are. Handling sexual assault cases in university committees, for example, is lunacy.

The UF athletic department has decided to suspend someone until an investigation is over. He may not be guilty. That's unfortunate for Harris if true, but Florida is being cautious, which I think is admirable and warranted here.

Agree. Would rather he be suspended then we find out he is innocent than have him play and get charged at a later date.

Pretty much. All you have to do is look at schools like Vandy and Mizzou who have (whether rightfully so or not) have dealt with the handling of a domestic violence situation. There are implications such as the removal of Title IX money as well these days. A University can't afford to give leeway in accusations like this.

And of Harris has been wrongly accused then I have no problem with him going after the girl with full legal clout. But I don't see the issue with suspending him during an investigation.
