No doubt. I just hate fighting with a fellow Bama fan. But, man... I understand what you're saying.

Hopefully they'll have a new proposal to vote for. That last flag was ugly as hell.

I kinda like this one:

Looks like a typical midwest / yankee flag.

I hope you get the chance to vote again.

To pretend otherwise, even joking, diminishes the significance of this action and is counterproductive to the cause. If we want to see things improve, we must support and applaud the progress when it is made, not just criticize the lack of it. Well done, Ole Miss. Very well done.

Yankee or not. The people deserve what they want.

This is NOT a political correctness issue. It's a decency issue. Plus, the flag is frankly embarrassing in 2014.

Government programs, black on black crime, and out of control law enforcement are doing more to hurt the black community in 2014 than every Confederate flag combined for the last 50 years.

But it is hard to think about the real problems, so let's instead engage in public shaming of a symbol.

Of course.
It's all over the state.
I do, however, think it'll catch many gameday viewers off-guard.

And they should have gotten rid of it like Georgia did

Georgia was not given a choice to keep the battle flag as part of its state flag.

Georgia's current flag is an almost exact recreation of the First National CSA flag, which makes comments like yours above seem even sillier.

just because they are willing to fight you over it doesn't mean they are right.

OM fans won't allow it

When I was there with the marching band in 2008 (great win), I remember some little kid waving a confederate flag at our bus with "Heritage Not Hate" written on it. It was quite the shock, even to a bunch of South Carolinians.

When I was a student at Auburn and we played OM at home for the first time their fans were waving small CSA naval jack flags in the stands and I thought it was really cool. Actually started me to casually pull for OM since then.

I literally saw confederate flags every day for the entire week I was in South Carolina. I was in Myrtle Beach, but still.

Anybody play HS football in the Birmingham area pre 2005? Vestavia Hills parents and fans would come with a caravan of confederate flags. You would think Robert E. Lee coached the team. My point is, MS was not the only state still proudly flying the flag.

The flag has actually been flown at College Gameday when SC hosted the show in the early 2000s. It was embarrassing.

I know right. I mean, it is the Confederate a National Flag with a logo in the middle.

That's how you know the people that are ignorant on the subject and just like to react to the " Confederate Flag" argument
