I have a new respect for Freeze having read that. He was raised similar to me growing up on a cattle farm and having a Dad who was a HS coach.

Is that where you got your "salt of the earth" charm and expert football knowledge, bunty?

What I like most about that article is that it shows Freeze isn't just ripping off Orgeron's recruiting philosophy. He made his own and presented it to O and he liked it.

I also like that it talks about the pay cut Freeze took just to get on staff at Ole Miss. It's not like Orgeron gave him some cushy job in hopes of also landing Oher.

When coach O was here, Hugh was one of the top recruiters on the staff. The other good one was Frank Wilson (now at LSU). Hugh tried to hire Wilson but he stayed at LSU. But most of the great talent that was brought in under coach O was due to these two guys.

Did anyone see him on Finebaum? He gave mullen allot of respect. you would never see Mullen do something like that.

Freeze rises from his chair, walks to a bookshelf and grabs a three-ring binder. Labeled The Journey, this phonebook-thick manuscript is his personal manifesto for how to construct a winning program, brick by brick. The nine chapters include his "Recruiting Plan," his "First 100 Days on the Job," his "Top 25 Things to Build," his ideas for "How to Engage the Fan Base" and his "Coaching Philosophy." It took Freeze two decades to write and refine these words. "Without this," he says, tapping the binder, "I'm not here today."

This plan impressed Archie and the 3 person committee so much that this is why he got the job.

I love what Hugh has done just as much as the next guy and I want nothing more than for this to turn into a historic story. I just have to see it first. LSU was a stepping stone last year. This weekend could be where we see this truly come to fruition.

The posters on the message board that shall not be named said that Freeze only said that because he knows that he is going to lose to Mullen and State this year. I shite you not.

I don't read that trash, they suck as people and their opinions aren't worth the fecal matter I just flushed down the toilet.

Freeze, smiling luminously, continues to stroll across the practice field. Alabama, the premiere college football program of the 21st century, is coming. The coach has been preparing for this hour of reckoning since he was two-feet high on the farm looking through that chain-link fence in Independence at his dad's practices. The notes in his right hand are a testament to that.

After reading an article like that. That shows his entire life has been wanting to be a SEC coach and him finally living that dream then having a paragraph like the one I quoted is why I believe we win this game.
