Yea... I'll admit I was wrong about that. I liked the rhythm that he had. I was quick to jump the gun. I liked the idea of a guy who was quick with the ball and frankly I thought he kind of lived up to it to a degree last year. What I didn't account for was that his arm strength was less than I anticipated and that his confidence was so easily broken.

To be honest for a sec I can post the text I sent my buddy up north on why UGA won't replace Mason and why they shouldn't. I understand everything that has been said by each side. The text is long as shite though so that'd be on yall.

But he basically is JT III. He just doesn't have a Stafford behind him.

ETA: And my buddy still wasn't convinced by my text haha. He made some good points that have really left me at this: Mason may not be the QB we need but we dunno if the other two will really do any better and as many positives as they provide they provide a lot of negatives. I posted on another site that Clemson with Stoudt was choosing lower highs and higher lows over Watson but Watson still provided more. Watson is an outlier. Not everyone has that on the bench.

It's quite obvious he doesn't have a laser, rocket arm but like I said earlier I'm anxious to see what happens with JSW and MM come back.

Someone elsewhere pointed out after rewatching eveyr throw HM made against UT that for basically every pass (or hell, it might have been EVERY pass) they were playing man coverage. That's kinda odd in college. Mason is definitely more of a Greene-like precision guy, so not having any pass plays in zone doesn't help. Also, I love bennett and Conley to death but those guys aren't really what you want on teh outside in man coverage beating DBs. You get them in space or throw back shoulder to them. JSW especially, and MM as well, are your outside guys that will beat corners 1v1. Mason has had what, 1.5 game out of 6 1/2 played with 1 of those guys (JSW), and 0 with both of them.
