So Fournette is as good as Michel and Chubb combined. Gotcha.

You're a dense one.

Fournette's not having to sit behind Gurley. If he was, his carries would be far less than what he has.

I like Fournette, Harris, and Dupre.

Dupre has come one strong, its hard not to be impressed by him.

This weekend will be an important one for this trio.

Hurd seems like a workhorse, and he is one of two freshmen RBs in the league with more yards than Fournette. His ypc is relatively low, though (Hurd: 4.56, Fournette: 5.75).

The run blocking was a trainwreck against USU and Arky St but it seems like it's gotten better every week. Hurd probably only averaged like 3.5 ypc vs those two teams. Against OU and UGA, Hurd had over 200 combined yards at 5.8 ypc.

Fournette shares carries with three other RBs.

I guess Gurley, Chubb, and Michel aren't sharing carries?

Fournette has an extra game on top of Chubb and Michel and isn't having to share carries with the best running back in the country. There's a big difference there when you're trying to compare the three backs.

There's a big difference between sharing carries and coming in in relief of the best player in the country. There are only so many carries to be "shared" at UGA.

That's why they calculate a stat called "yards per game." Fournette > Michel > Chubb in that category.

That's why they make a stat called "yards per carry." Take away Michel's one good game against Troy, and Fournette > Michel in that category. Take away Chubb's one good run against Clemson, and Fournette > Chubb, in that category.

That means you have to take away Fournette's best game too

ETA: just looked. Fournette's best games by far were against Sam Houston State and NM State. Do work son

Michel and Chubb each have exactly half of Fournette's 56 carries. Michel has 23 carries for 223 yards and Chubb has 23 carries for 146 yards. When each player has exactly half of Fournette's carries it is not crazy to combine them. So in 56 carries UGA's freshmen have 369 yards and 4 tds. They also add 6 receptions for 96 yards and 2 more tds. Sorry that our freshmen rb's are more productive with the same amount of touches.

Once again, thanks for the laughs! HAhahaha

So take away the best performances of our RBs to make yours look better? Got it. No point in arguing with someone wanting to fudge the numbers to make his argument work.

They have stat lines that are not representative of their actual game-to-game performances. They have "outliers" in their data.

Haven't you heard? Only short runs count in YPC stats

Yep, totally forgot about Wolf. He's been outstanding so far this season.

Wolf has 13 receptions in 3 games (4.3 catches per game). The most receptions per game of any TE in the SEC. Anderson (USCe SR) and Engram (Ole Miss SO) each have one more reception than Wolf...He is having an outstanding season so far, and has changed the TE position from a weakness to a strength for UT. Besides the receptions, he is a very good blocker...something UT desperately needs.

You mean like Fournette's games against Sam Houston State and New Mexico State?

The problem for LF is that the majority of his quality work has been against garbage sowe rea;lly have not seen him do much yet. he iwll have a chance saturday.

Chubb and Michel have played tougher teams and looked good...although MIchel in the conversation is a moot point since he is out for the next 6 weeks.

Id say Hurd has looked the best so far. He has a poor OL to deal with and looked real good in Athens last week...until, well you know.

Because we sat Gurley after the first series or two against Troy, you dumb shite. This goes back to having to share carries with the best running back in the country.

Georgia's true frosh take a back seat to no team.

- Sony Michel (RB), Nick Chubb (RB), Isaiah McKenzie (PR), Jeb Blazevich (TE), Lorenzo Carter (DE), Dominick Sanders (S), all have played huge roles for the Dawgs.

- Isaiah Wynn and Dyshon Sims have played quality minutes on the OL.

- Three true frosh CBs have also seen time: Malcolm Parrish, Rico Johnson, and Shaq Jones.

Can't speak for other teams, but this may be the most a Freshman class has contributed to UGA in quite a while.

And still lost to South Carolina...
