This is why you stop after giving the fair catch signal...if you keep running, then you should be fair game to be laid out.

You are wrong. You left out a VERY important part of the rule.

being within two yards of a player of the receiving team positioned to catch a free or scrimmage kick

The Tennessee player was not in position to receive the ball. the ball was 15-20 yards over his head and behind him.


Now, the McKenzie run after the fair catch is a legitimate complaint.
