Not my fault, there is no Driskell like Austin, no old school B&B, no Inn at Ole Miss, what am I to do?

There's a DQ that used to be famous, as in a "cann't miss" thing. And that is a Dairy Queen.

Fargo's BBQ in Bryan is ranked amongst the best in the state.

The Republic steakhouse in College Station is excellent and has a great list of spirits.

Christopher's World Grill in Bryan is excellent also.

Cafe Capri in Bryan is the best bet for Italian.

Fuego's in College Station for good tacos.

Every other chain restaurant is there too.

RayRay99,
Some threads on tSECr are worth a response.
Most aren't.
Don't feed the trolls.

For a bar, try Halo in Bryan. Lots of fun.

For restaurants, the best one to go to is an on campus dining hall actually, called Duncan. There are some really neat traditions with the place, you should take the family for the full experience. Reveille is there for a lot of meals and the kids can pet her.

Would also recommend Restaurante San Jose, a BCS staple. One of the better Yelp reviews:

quote:

I was craving a good Mexican breakfast. I ordered ham and eggs, which comes with a side of potatoes and beans. The tortillas were delicious and obviously homemade. The beans were watery and the portion was small, which was confusing because they looked like they were from a can. I also ordered two tacos (one barbacoa and one tripe). The barbacoa taco was so tasteless I had to add salt, and I never like to add salt to my food. The tripe taco was crisp and tasty.

I had also ordered a strawberry smoothie to drink. It was only all right. Milk and strawberries blended.

The service was terrible. The server was apathetic. She was alone with no busboy so I left a good tip, but it seemed like she had no personality. Another reviewer described the server as akin to a "zombie", and I felt the same way.

The place was dirty. I look closely at details, like the fact that the fallen leaves from the plant hadn't been picked up in weeks, or the dust lining the shelves, or how the large juice jugs did not look as if they had even been rinsed in ages.

what are we supposed to do down there for fun?

Late Friday evenings me and my dog like to go down to Walmart and watch the guy gather up the shopping carts.

There is usually a big crowd so you need to get there early.

After that we usually go over to Habeeb's convenience store and a soda pop.

Ole Habeeb has some great hot dogs on the rotisserie.

Make sure you don't get one of the green ones.

Dated a girl who was a hostess at the Republic. All the bartenders and staff hated me because they wanted to bang her instead of me, so I never ate there. Have heard it's incredible though.
