So after all the hype about the new stadium, the first week has come and gone. What are your opinions on the new expansion. The good, the bad?

I personally sat in the newly renovated student section.
THE GOOD Plenty of room for students. Drunken idiots was at a low. Free towels on a rainy day was epic. The stadium seemed to be very very loud with the partial bowl in. Great crowd also. More people showed up than I expected
THE BAD Sound from jumbo tron on that end of the stadium was horrible. Hard to hear any of the commercials or pregame videos. View in the endzone wasnt good. Ended up watching the jumbotron the entire time.

All around very pleased with the expansion. The small details looked great.

ALSO:I hear you Scott Stricklin making the White Out game on the same day as a monsoon.

Scott Stricklin did away with many things that fans wanted gone. This is one of them

If you'r an student, I wouldn't complain b/c yall get tickets for cheaper than a combo meal. If you were in the scoreboard club you should have known that its a different way of watching a football game if you were used to watching between the 20s

I think his beef was with the butchered spelling of Stricklin.

I have had South Zone tickets for my Dad since year 1. He and I used to catch every OM and MSU home game that we could. The amenities are nice in the SZ, but sitting in the end zone is not really a great way to watch a game.

When The Scoreboard Club was announced, I was thinking it was sort of the same, but potentially worse because you are looking into the sun for day games late in the season. The plus is that north winds should be blocked in November. In the South Zone, they hit you square in the face.

Any comments about the Scoreboard Club other than the cheese dip?

Stricklin addressed this in the Wednesday Update.

quote:

In regards to audio, we discovered in August that our current speaker system (installed in 2008 along with the south video board) has 19 blown drivers. The replacements couldn’t be here by the USM game, but arrived this week and are being installed today and tomorrow. I am not happy with the current audio quality at Davis Wade. Hopefully, these repairs will bring about much-needed improvement. If it doesn’t, then other steps will be explored
