Players like Rose and Westbrook are true PGs but the have such good scoring ability to go with it.

While very good players they are not true points to me. They play point strictly because they are the best scoring option at the guard or forward positions for their team or in Westbrook's case at times just a ball hog that tries to keep up scoring wise with Durant. True point guards are guys like Tony Parker who get the offense going for his teammates and only take over scoring wise for the most part if it's needed.
Westbrook isn't a 1...he's really a 2 playing the 1.
A pure point guard is Chris Paul, Steve Nash...guys like that. PASS FIRST

Have seen Steve Nash's 3Ball? He can shoot first like a boss bro

Not many true PG's left in the NBA. The game has changed since the days of Mark Price and John Stockton.

For those who aren't close enough to attend the exhibition game on Nov 7th vs W Alabama is going to be on ESPN3.

quote:All games not televised will be on the Watch ESPN app via espn3.com or sec network+ which is only available online. This goes for all AU men's and women,s basketball as well as baseball and softball events at home or at another SEC site.

Didn't know that applied to exhibition games too.

Yeah honestly surprised that includes exhibition games

Well if you're wanting to get technical than there isn't many true PGs left if you're talking in the sense of NBA history, but in the modern era Rose and Westbrook are considered true PGs to me because the game is different. Now that being said I know what your saying. There are very few left but there still are some. Paul, Rondo, Rubio, and Parker are the best in the business at facilitating and offense.

quote:Anything AUHD does feeds for will be on the SECN+ part of the Watch ESPN app whether the game is an exhibition or season game. AUHD does in arena feeds for exhibition games in the area so it's very easy for that to be on the SECN+ part of the app.

quote:They are points more out of necessity than the game changing. If the Bulls or Thunder had a true facilitating points then both of them would be playing a slashing 2 guard role. Regardlesd of whether you want to call it guard or forward Strictly speaking of skill sets Lebron is much more of a point when he's not posting up than either Westy or Rose.

quote:I may be wrong. I just went through the complete schedule of November 7th on the Watch ESPN app and did not see the AU exhibition game scheduled. Where did you see it would be on ESPN3?

For the students on the board.
Coach Bruce Pearl and the Auburn men’s basketball team will be the hosts The Pearl Jam, an event for Auburn students on Thursday, Oct. 30, at Auburn Arena. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.
The Pearl Jam will feature free food, a team scrimmage, introduction of the 2014-15 team and coaching staff, free t-shirts, prizes and much more. Students will also have an opportunity to interact with coach Pearl and provide input and ideas regarding the student section atmosphere.
“If we are going to create an incredible environment to watch college basketball, we have to do it together,” Pearl said. “Auburn students, we can’t do this without you. The energy and enthusiasm I feel on campus for this university and our athletics programs is unmatched anywhere I’ve been. I want this student section to be the most exciting and hostile environment in all of college basketball. Our coaches, staff and team can’t wait to see you in Auburn Arena on Oct. 30.”
Changes to the student entry policy will be explained and the results of the student section name will be announced. Coach Pearl and the team will be available for photos and autographs following the event. The Auburn cheerleaders, Tiger Paws, pep band and Aubie will also be in attendance.
Admission to The Pearl Jam is free and will be available to Auburn University students only. Students can enter through the student entrance on the north side of Auburn Arena.
