Should all recreational drugs be made legal?

I've heard this opinion brought up before and I can't say I don't disagree with it. It's a mix of freedom and Darwinism that makes me feel like it wouldn't be a bad idea. However, do you do anything to prevent possible dangers with more dangerous drugs if they are to be made legal? Is there anything that could prevent the dangers?
I can see both sides of the argument honestly.

No
Drugs like meth and heroin should never, ever be legal

Hell no. Where do you draw the line as far as "drugs"?
Also, try asking this on reddit, you will get an overwhelming "yes" answer and all sorts of anecdotal arguments for it, if you are looking for a specific answer

No. Pot and mushrooms are the only ones that should be legal, IMO.

No. I do think they should let clean needle programs operate with freedom though. I know in some areas they are still hassled

I personally don't care what someone else does in their free time, in their own home, as long as it doesn't have an effect on me, at work, or on the road, or any public place.
If there was a way of testing for recent use of a drug, say the last 10 hours ( like there is with alcohol) then I wouldn't have any problem with it being legal, because maybe that would deter most people from getting high at work, or driving high.
As it is though, I don't think we can do that.

Every single one should be legal, and rational education on their effects increased. This thread always ends the same way so I doubt I'll even open it again, but the main issue is that drugs are already really easy to get and use. People who want to do drugs already use them. Anyone who thinks legality would effect usage rates much either doesn't know the facts or lives a very sheltered life. Bringing drugs out into the open would make treatment easier and reduce drug-related crime.

Yes, especially ones that kill minorities.

First, lets define a "recreational drug".
Is that marijuana only or is there a longer list?
Does that include abuse of prescription drugs?
The definition here defines the discussion.

Most drugs should be legal. Most never will be though because we live in a nanny state.

I believe so, yes.
I have never heard a single convincing argument for why alcohol should be legal but not marijuana, cocaine or heroin despite many attempts.
