Good God Man!!!....illogical? how so?

You're projecting your personal preference for the college campus experience into this analysis. If big name OOC programs are going to play Bama or Auburn, then the experience would have to benefit them as well. Sure big names like USC or Michigan will take the game but it has to be a reasonably attractive proposition to draw a larger number of their fans and not the hard core who would be willing to endure traveling to college towns in Alabama to see their team.

Traveling to away stadiums you don't need to attract a large contingent at all. I think you are over thinking this.
