Let us just end this thread: Vandy is a nationally respected school, A&m is to some extent for engineering, the rest only matters if you are in state or not. To someone in New York or Seattle, there is ZERO difference betweem: UF, UGA, Ole miss, LSU, MSU, UK, Mizzou, Bama, AU, Arky, USCe, UT

Lsupride87 is on the money. This thread (and the myriad others that keep popping up) is basically a chance for people who went to big state schools that are indistinguishable to the naked, or Yankee, eye to argue about the minutiae they think makes their school special.

I wouldn't go quite that far.

A UF degree (and to a lesser extent, UGA and A&M) will probably get you further here in the Chicago business community than the others, though I fully recognize that the difference is comparatively small.
