I guess it's a mute point now. Everything is about archiving in a cloud and streaming out of there these days ... on demand.
Good gosh. I remember in 1967 when my family got our first color TV and we thought that was the bomb. Hell, there were shows that were not even in color at the time.
We are living in incredible times. Heads-up holographic displays are right around the corner. Bandwidth pipes are getting smaller and larger at the same time. Compression technology is booming. It's just amazing.

I wish I could hear your point.

you've been around long enough evidently to appreciate the rate of change and how it's accelerating..... both good and bad.
I remember the first digital SLR's. Came in 3 and 6 megapixel, $8000 and approximately $20,000. Nikons latest digital camera is 36.3 megapixel at 5 FPS and has an ISO of 64- 12,800. Can you imagine trying to load these images and work with them in Photoshop with a computer from say 10 to 15 years ago. Impossible. But a lot of people are still driving around in automobiles that old or older.
Remote control birth control. Still trying to wrap my brain around that one
