I wouldn't stay anywhere remotely close to the airport. Not a good part of town.

Like I said, your best bet is to drive a little east and stay in lithonia or conyers or some other little town like that. I'm sure there will be rooms available for around $50 a night if you go on priceline. I wouldn't normally recommend those cities, but they are both right near 20 so it should be easy off, easy on.

The only issue with cancelling Wednesday night hotel room in Columbia for a cheaper one near ATL, is that check-in in Columbia would then be right in the middle of the afternoon when we'll be tailgating. Early check-in may not be available.

Conyers (exit 82) Hwy138 is the perfect place to crash Wed. night (30min. drive from Hartsfield). Lotta solid hotels, food & drink along the access roads on both sides of I-20. Then eastbound on Thur. morning (against Atl. traffic) 2 1/2 hrs. max to Co Sc...
