There are two reasons you can't rank Les Miles that high. The reasons are Nick Saban and Alabama. I use them both for good reason.

Saban is a hell of a coach no doubt of that. But even the best need something to work with to do what he has done. Alabama is one of the places at which all you need is a leader to do great things and history proves my point here.

Saban and Alabama are a match made in Hell if you are an LSU follower. Just think about it. Had Saban never gone to Bama, then Miles might just be worthy of being called the best. What a juggernaut LSU would have been the last several years.

You probably have multiple BCS titles, maybe in a row. WHO would have stopped you? The Aubies muster a good team every few years but not consistently like LSU. It would be Pax LSU,the Purple and Gold age.

But it didn't happen, because of the aforementioned hellspawned marriage. Alabama and Nick Saban have stopped you cold and now have won three in a row.

Now I am not down on Les,far from it. He is a hell of a coach without a doubt and you just can't help but like the guy. He is not an asshat like a Spurrier or Meyer, he conducts himself with class, and his eccentricities are entertaining to say the least.

But the best is in Tuscaloosa. He was before and another is now.
