The last QB drafted from USC was in 1990, some guy named Mark Ellis was drafted in the 9th round(lol). The development of talent into NFL caliber QB's is not something you find in USC.
Todd Ellis was his name, and no, Anthony Wright was drafted in the '99 and played for eight years as a journeyman QB in the league. LINK
An NFL type QB is not what winning in college ball is all about. They are few and far between and far more of them come from FCS programs than most are willing to admit.

Defensive linemen seems to be their bread and butter.
... and OLinemen, TEs, DBs, kickers, LBs, WRs, etc. lulz - care to compare the number of Gamecocks currently on NFL rosters to the number of mizzourites currently on NFL rosters? Especially big time players?
Mizzou has what, 30 on rosters right now compared to SCAR's 38? Or do you want to compare high draft picks? Pro-bowlers? You name your poison slick. lulz

Spurrier has never been that amazing as a recruiter. Not even at florida. Fsu regularly beat him up on the recruiting trail.
What he does do is win. In college. Somehow.

2009 right? So I guess "at the time" would be wrong, since I was there and didn't see it live.
I saw it eventually though
ETA: fricking guy was wide open on the left god dammit

quote:Shaw: 362 yds passing, 4 TDs, 0 INTs, 61% passing, 201 yds rushing, 2 TDs, 2-0 vs. Clemson
darn shame our winningest qb ever didn't even get drafted.
Boyd: 564 yds passing, 2 TDs, 5 INTs, 52% passing, 1 yd rushing, 2 TDs, 0-4 vs. Carolina That 7th round talent.
Perhaps you should be more worried about why your winningest QB ever went 0fer against Carolina instead of where our guy got drafted.

I love how you made this about Mizzou vs USC. Just admit you can't develop QBs. I could care less if Mizzou has less NFL players or that one was the DROY.
Also confused by your link, obviously says Undrafted 1999.

USC isn't a destination school for the NFL.

Yes in regards to QBs, isn't that the topic here?

We didn't have any qbs in the NFL last year, but 2 former Gamecocks threw TD passes last year. Spencer Lanning (kicker) and Ace Sanders (WR) both threw TD passes. How many TD passes did former Clemson players make last year?

Well, I heard Whitehurst lost an arm wrestling match against a punter.
