No, stage one with no complications and immediate complete surgical resection would be closer to 100%. The lower overall average is due to complications in some patients.

The chief of medicine at Sloan -Kettering, one of the most prestigious medical positions on Earth with direct knowledge of his case, basically said he committed suicide.

You'll forgive me if I think many of them don't have a clue about mortality and prognosis. It's rate to meet a cancer doc who knows when to quit on a patient. They're all convinced that all their patients will get better. Which is good until it's wrong.
