Memorial day....whatcha doing?

Heading to SW Arkansas and the Ouachita mountains to do some camping, hiking and swimming. Getting off of the grid for a few days.
May hit DeGray Lake, but will head over to Little Missouri falls and will go wherever the road takes us.
No plans, except basecamp.

Going Camping on Wednesday afternoon..Trying to decide between Upper Buffalo, Richland Creek and Spring River.
We camped at Erbie for years but the US Gov't has really fricked us there. I hear Richland is very nice but I've never been...The Spring River is just ole reliable

I like that dam there and then the trail up to Tall Peak near there. For many Arkansans it is a part of the state that is undiscovered.
Also not too far from Little Mo Falls there is a place called Slatington or Mosquito Gap where you can see a lot of brown slate. Nice view from there.

Looks like they built a new road into Shady lake, fug! Now more lose-e-anners and hicks from Texass will be wanting to go.

I'll be drinking on Lake Hamilton. Hopefully whatever grimy ooze they dump into that lake will turn me into a Ninja Turtle or something cool instead of giving me the AIDS.

Yeah, I think the flood might have washed out a lot of those roads up there. Shady was closed down for a while after that flood that hit the area while back and killed those 16 people.

I love the Upper Buffalo! Spring River is nice too. But if you camp at Richland Creek Campgrounds and explore upstream you will forget all about Erbie
