Fulmer without Cutcliffe was no better than what we've had since. Probably worse honestly.

How so? Cut left y'all in '99. Until '08 y'all were always pretty damn good.

Tennessee underachieved greatly from 1999 to 2005. Those 2002-2005 teams were fricking pathetic for the amount of talent they had.

Cut came back in 06 and 07 and UT had some success. Leaves again in 2008 and the offense was historically bad.

Fulmer deserved all he got. No coach should be able to survive 10 years without winning anything of consequence.

We were elite in 1999. Probably the most talented roster in the country outside of Miami. We slowly got worse each year until Cut returned as OC in '06 & '07 (won 9 and 10 games.) Cut leaves in 2008 and we go 5-7.

Cutcliffe came back in 2006 and was there in 2007. Fulmer went 10-13 his last two years without Cut.
