Oh, heaven forbid. That is part of JFF, just out there having fun and making plays. Nothing wrong with a little excitement after making a big play.

People like Russell Wilson's phony, manufactured public persona.
Nothing wrong with athletes like JFF or Richard Sherman, who speak their minds and back up their shite talking.
Not that I blame Wilson for the way he acts, fans can be hypocrites and turn on a guy when he says something you don't like.

Some words speak so much more about the person who uses them than they do about the target of the insult.

what is ones words degrade another person. Is that acceptable in big time sports
Posted on 5/17/14 at 11:15 am to craigbiggio
Exactly. At least he's not some fake Lebron douche who tries to please everyone and make everyone like him. He is who he is and that person isn't nearly as awful as some people want him to be.

He's a college athlete making a money symbol. Sorry if you don't agree, but that doesn't really sit well with me. I prefer the Peyton Manning quiet confidence style. Nothin too crazy, just toss the ball to the ref and acknowledge you're the GOAT

So you would prefer he tries to be someone he isn't? Do you think bottling up his personality would help him be the best player possible?

what does making the money symbol and taunting a player and getting your team a 15 yard penalty have to do with his "character". I think it implies lack of character. It also shows his lack of respect for the purity of the game.

Sure. Professional/D1-sports is a high-pressure, tense situation. We want these guys to go out there and give it their all, and then criticize them for doing things we're so sure we wouldn't do in their shoes?
It's easy for me to sit here and say I wouldn't act like JFF or Richard Sherman. I'm not going to begrudge a guy for speaking his mind. The other players on the field have the opportunity to shut him up.
I respect the hell out of guys like Marvin Harrison or Marques Colston, who don't seek the spotlight and exemplify the blue-collar 9-5 athlete we think we would be. But the truth is sports would be a lot less boring without guys like JFF or Sherman.

Maybe craig Biggio let his play do the talking which is what I would like them to all do.

Im not saying hes a bad player, in fact he's damn good. I just am more of a fan of those who keep their mouth shut, their celebrations to a minimum, and who are more in it for the team rather than themselves. Johnny can keep doing what he wants, he's making millions and playing in the NFL. Some guy (me) on SECrant thinking that he acts like a douche sometimes doesn't change that at all.

You know who else fetishised "purity"? The Nazis.

I can assume that if he decides to taunt in the NFL should he play, he will be shown in a pile what that will get you.

goodness man..You bringing the NAZI thing into a football conversation. What a stretch but what would I expect from a jiz jar fan

The cashin in signal was a joke/show of unity among his team.
They all did it.
It wasn't a satanic, capitalist ploy.
Also, one time Johnny received a penalty during the heat of competition.
I'm sure he regrets it.
I've heard this has also happened to another player or two during a game.
Crazy.
