Damn...i used to hold auburn fans in higher regard. Now they are just Alabama fans.
Again this has nothing to do with fans whatsoever
No one will seriously claim these

Then can we stop blaming Alabama fans for 1941? Thanks.

@GreggDoyelCBS: @DanWolken The National Championship Foundation, which has some traction (whatever it is), cites four co-champs from 1993. Auburn's one.

Congratulations, Auburn!
Never, ever bring up 1941 and
never , ever question Bama's 15!!

The NCAA does not recognize anyone as a champion in football. The only recognize some polls are more popular than others and list them. The wording is very incorrect
It's semantics as to whether the NCAA "recognizes" them or not. They do choose to list champions for each year on their website, so it is in essence recognizing those teams.
The question is why does Auburn's website use the NCAA as any sort of endorsement of 1913, 1983, and 1993 when the NCAA website doesn't list them? It just looks like a flat out lie, not just "incorrect wording."
Maybe their is another source for NCAA info on this that is different than the NCAA website?

Did we finish like 4th in the SEC and 20 something nationally in any of those "claims"?

Did Bama not play in a bowl game in 1941?

This doesn't negate Bama's ridiculous ones in the least. Our new ones certainly have holes, but at least we have arguments.
Finishing 20th and 3rd in the conference is still the weakest in all of sports.

If we start wearing "Got 5" shirts you'll have a point.
If you notice most of us are embarrassed or at least indifferent about this.

Also you would think Alabama fans would have the grace to not mock other teams for claiming suspect title but nope
After all the crowing that we've heard from Auburn fans about Bama's national championships, and you think we are going to miss this opportunity to pile on?

NCAA link
Not the biggest fan of this, but it's substantiated.
Pages 76, 78, and 79. Thanks to ellitor on the AU board.

quote:I can and will still bring it up. The difference is the Alabama fans support the ridiculous number of national championships they claim by buying shirts and bumper stickers that tout those championships. Be a cold day in hell before I bought anything proclaiming Auburn as national champions in either 1983 or 1993
Congratulations, Auburn!

If we claimed all of our titles the way you folks just claimed '13, '83, and '93 - We'd have 20+.
