No. Cfbstats.com only goes back to 2007.

Our 08 team was t1st in defense and still finished 5-7 because we averaged like 3 ppg.

Can't be worse than our 2012 team which had a complete NFL offense and still managed to lose because we had no defense.

Ironically, going back to 2003 to make it a 10-year span makes Alabama look even better.
Alabama was #1 in total defense every year save 2003, 2006 and 2007.

Edit: I'm pretty sure we led the conference in total defense in 2002 as well.
