Also, from stuff I've read 'bout the USC coach, John McKay seemed to be of the opinion that Bear had integration in mind when he approached McKay 'bout scheduling this game. And several civil rights personages of note, who were around at the time and in position to see its effect, have stated it was a significant event...

You wouldn't but I would...it's my list and I think it belongs. I don't agree with the Heisman vote every year but it's still a significant award...and it's no more of a joke than other sports awards that are given out each year...

Of all the great players in Alabama football history, Mark Ingram is the only one to bring home what is still considered college football's top individual honor. The OP asked for our opinions and that's top 10 worthy in my book...

There's so much mythology around that game. But the fact is that Wilbur Jackson was already a scholarship member of the football team.
