Mississippi Flood is actually pretty decent Do any Ole Miss fans actually hate this name? Its not half bad. Its way better than being named after algae.

It's a great name. I want to know who decided that changing our nickname to the Rebels would be less offensive than the Flood.

I don't think he is trolling. He's hinted at being a self righteous douche in the past.

And this is why we have the lowest ranking academically in the SEC and one of the worst overall athletic departments in the SEC. More people care about symbols than they do performance. #WAOM

Do you think any school in the country would be ok with just up and changing their name? Don't be so arrogant as to think this is just an Ole Miss problem.

I wish I had "Ban fan from team" power.

I'd use it on you and I don't even like the Ole Miss Rebels...

Stanford, Marquette, St. Johns all changed their names because it was the right call.

Best example: Belmont University in Nashville.

"In the mid-1990s, Belmont changed its nickname to the "Bruins", replacing the earlier mascot of Rebels due to its association with the Confederacy."

Was it an easy decision? No. But it had to be done to help the school progress into the 21st century. Now look at their school. It's one of the best in the South and new buildings are going up yearly.

Like I said, you'll get your wish soon enough. I don't see why you want to come here and stir the pot about it when you know good and well almost everyone disagrees with you. Does it make you feel better, like you're morally superior?

Why didn't you just put it on the OM board? Is it because you want everyone to know how progressive you are? Want a medal?
