KA as head coach may not be as bad as people think

It depends on the coaching staff and the ability to keep Gant & Wright. If there was a staff that includes Fuller & Peeler among others, we might be alright. I saw an interesting tweet from Jeff Goodman saying that KA should try to get Kim English on the staff in some capacity. Thoughts? I think that would be a good move personally and might help with recruiting.

No. You cannot tell me this shite anymore. That's what the shills for the university told us when Haith was hired.
This is worse than Haith.

Would you be ok with the next football coach being Adam Dorrel?

It's not worse than Haith.
It's a totally different thing.
Haith brought a ton of baggage.
Anderson is likely a 'bridge' hire.
Get some good wholesome discipline and stability in the program, then hire that younger up n' comer in a few years when the coaching market isn't in a holding pattern.

KA won't put up with any crap from the players. We may actually play defense. There just might be some ball movement on the offensive side of the ball as well.
He is invested in Mizzou 100%. He just needs to put a staff together that can keep the 2014 class together and needs to keep the guys that we do have from transferring.

There were plenty of good name coaches out there. More than when Haith was hired. That was the time to do a bridge hire. This isn't it.

The next two years are going to be tuff. Cupboard not totally bare but lacks experience. If he can win 20 games in either of his first two years here he did one hell of a job.
If everyone remembers Alden went with the up and coming assistant coach (Snyder) the up and coming mid major coach (M. Anderson) and then Haith. Up and comers have burnt him and then Haith.
He is going with the old wile veteran who bleeds MU.

He got turned down for what.
Multiple coaches told him no.
Anderson was the lifeline. He went with a safety hire because he couldn't say "no one will work for me" as that is clearly becoming a meme about Alden.
He is toxic to our basketball program and probably will have to be fired. He may not even deserve the reputation. But he has it.
Can you name another program with top 30 facilities and top 30 salary who cannot find a coach who will say yes? I cannot.

My new working theory: A deal has actually been struck with Marshall to begin coaching the team in 2015-2016, after his son has graduated high school. Anderson is to coach the team in 2014-2015 season as that bridge and then will remain on staff as an assistant to Marshall. Also explains why it took so long, why all the secrecy, and besides that, I read it in my syrup.

Here's my theory.
We pitched to GM. He listened. Said no. "Not enough guaranteed money" was coming from a KC station.
Threw a last second pitch to Jay Wright.
He said no.
He has to go with Anderson at the last second as a safety.

A lot of ifs there. If we would have had a better hire, I dont think there would be as many ifs. It is pathetic that we hire a coach based on that he went to Mizzou. Sure it is something that can push a coach over the edge. But not when his resume can't really compare. Then again maybe this was Aldens only option.

This is the correct answer.

Just got this text from CBC HC @tatumjustin40 on Kim Anderson hire - “I think that it’s a great hire.” (cont)

I'll be the first to admit. Who gives a frick what I think. What this guy thinks is a million times more important. Hell, I'm still for hiring Justin as an assistant.

I actually agree. This might not be too terrible. I'm willing to see what he can do. He HAS to be a better coach than Haith. I give more credit to Nestor in Haith's first year here cause it all went to shite after he left. I'm willing to see what Anderson can do.

And he's still going to Kentucky.
Eta: or more likely Florida.

No, we don't stand a chance to get Jayson. I don't know if we had a chance before, but we really don't now. But I do think Justin would help over all in the STL at least. Plus, I think he might be the best coach on the staff. He does have 2 championships after all.

Well it is better than Haith.
