McElroy, who led Alabama to a perfect 14-0 season and a championship in 2009, told WJOX-FM that Auburn is the 2014 frontrunner ‘without question’, mostly because of Gus Malzahn.
“I think he’s the most innovative play-caller in college football,” McElroy said. “I think he’s a tremendous football coach, and he’s had a lot of success over the course of his career. And what they did last year was really special; so I think they are the frontrunners without question at this point.”

How many times is McElroy going to say this?

I wonder if he will say it again tomorrow?

Shocking that a media personality chooses the odds on favorite. Just odd.

Granted, I can't think of many Bama QB's I've ever liked, besides Namath, but McElroy has a special place in my hated personalities. Just oozes douche-ness

Makes sense, Auburn should probably be favored since they won the SEC last year and return as much as anyone.
Kind of hope those sentiments continue in the media leading up to the season and Alabama is not considered the favorite this year.

He's always seemed like a nice, down to earth guy to me. Why do you think he's douchey?

Yeah, that drive in '09 and pass to Roy was as douchey as it gets. I understand.

It really stems down to one quote for me. Do you remember in the "Roll Tide, War Eagle" 30 for 30 when he was talking about how his friends were telling him how important the iron bowl was to his resume?
When he says "Idk, I thought the resume was already pretty good..." That shite killed me
