By Georgia, you really mean Atlanta because the rest of the state is no different than any other southern state.

Well, the Atlanta metro makes up two thirds of the population of the state of Georgia, so sure.

Meh. Georgia's economy is doing just fine.

New Orleans isn't even one of the busiest ports in the country anymore. Savannah is though.

What does Georgia's economy have to do with the TX/LA/Gulf Coast boom?

The port of New Orleans is doing just fine and the manufacturing that will be coming from south louisiana will certainly give it more support. This isn't a Ga/La pissing contest. I'm just commenting on the future boom coming to the third coast.

The Port of South Louisiana is the largest volume shipping port in the Western Hemisphere and 9th largest in the world.[1] It is one of the largest bulk cargo port in the world.[citation needed]

It extends 54 miles (87 km) along the Mississippi River between New Orleans, Louisiana and Baton Rouge, Louisiana, centering approximately at LaPlace, Louisiana, which serves as the Port's headquarters location.

This port is critical for grain shipments from the Midwest, handling some 60% of all raw grain exports.

just spewing stuff? NO has more than double the volume of Savannah. According to American Association of Port authorities, there are 5 Louisiana ports with more tons than #20 Savannah:

1 Port of South Louisiana, LA, 252,069,033
4 New Orleans, LA 79,342,141
10 Baton Rouge, LA 59,992,818
11 Plaquemines, LA, 58,280,348
14 Lake Charles, LA 54,382,331

20 Savannah, GA 34,132,066
