Louisiana and Texas have the best economies in the south without a doubt. No business wants to be in a piece of shite state like Georgia or Alabama.

The frick? Louisiana is one of the most poor, most fat, most uneducated states in the country. Georgia is not.

Your bias is showing.

The aerospace industry and car manufacturers, among others, say otherwise.

I can agree with you on Alabama, but your bait on Georgia is so obvious.

Actually, Texas does have a steamrolling economy. They have low unemployment despite being a high growth state which makes it harder to keep unemployment numbers low. This high growth also hurts Georgia in unemployment statistics. Louisiana is so dependent on energy/oil and chemicals that when those industries are hot their unemployment numbers are great. Louisiana is such a low growth state that keeping unemployment numbers lower is easier. Louisiana with their extremely slow growth rate up until recently actually made Alabama look like a relatively high growth state.

Btw, why wouldn't you include Huntsville (traditionally Alabama's strongest economy) or Mobile for Alabama?

Yeah, unless you give a shite about logistics and need to be somewhere conveniently located. Everything traveling from the east to west coast passes through Atlanta then Memphis. This is a primary reason Birmingham has a successful economy. Also a big part of why Fed Ex is in Memphis, along with it being a central location for the US by air.

Louisiana is the absolute worst place to put a business with exception of one factor, your ports. As for the other states you mentioned, one has a huge port in Mobile and the other borders the Atlantic.

Texas is awesome. If they were an independent nation they would have something like the 13th largest economy in the world. I don't remember the exact number but I believe 13th is correct.
