Heres news about Core's tasting room coming to "uptown" Fayetteville. I like the sound of a 1400 SF patio overlooking the Mud Creek trail.

Love this, real close. They will give Apple Blossom some competition on this end of town.

Foam Fest just leads into Northwest Arkansas Beer Week.
NWA Beer Week
Foam Fest one weekend, Block St Block Party the next. Fayetteville is such a good town for people who like being drunk and outside.

Nice article from the flyer about the branding of our local breweries. The Fossil Cove cans are pretting interesting, though I don't think you can get much better than the Ozark APA can (not as big of a fan of the Golden Belgian art). I do like what BLKBOX did with Nick Shoulder's original artwork, though. Core's newer packaging is a huge improvement.
I really like Lost 40's packaging as well (not in the article). I wonder what agency handled it?

Anywhere in NWA I can just stop by the breweries, occasionally pay $5-10 cover fee for a tour, then drink free beer and see the facilities? I'm visiting soon and would love to tour a few breweries.

I don't think any of them are doing brewery tours like a lot of the Colorado and other bigger breweries do. Most of them are pretty small operations. You can see the brewery at all off them, and they have tasting rooms/bars attached. Most of them are pretty laid back about showing you around the place as well. I'd recommend checking out Fossil Cove and/or Ozark. Ozark usually has food and entertainment on Sunday afternoons as well.
Speaking of Ozark: has anyone tried their new DIPA yet? I'll hopefully get some tonight when I go out and find it on tap somewhere. Fossil Cove also just released a Saison I haven't gotten to try either.

That area is going to be cool in a couple of years.
Uptown is getting better. Nibbles is reopening as a sports bar soon.
Rumor is that the Wood Fire Pizza truck will open a new brick and mortar location somewhere around Cores new tap room by the mall.

All of this stuff is interconnected with the trails. The area makes sense for apartments and young people who like to drink and ride bikes.

Core's tap room is going over there across from Noodles, right?

Yes, in the OK or USA Buffet china place. Core is only going to take part of it. Wood Fire is taking the place of another business up there. Guessing Core will use the rest of the space for something different.
With JJ's opening up a brewery/bar up there also the uptown area is moving on up.

Here's a fun article, from the Tulsa World, talking about how we are bringing in "beer tourists" from Tulsa, and that the Fayetteville area has 10 breweries compared to Tulsa's 3.
Fayetteville is brewing up business.

As we sampled some of the Ozark brews, a group of guys showed up on a bus. I noticed a lot of them were wearing Oklahoma State gear. I asked where they were from and most said Tulsa. It happened to be a group of men enjoying the Fayetteville Ale Trail during a bachelor party weekend.
“We are here in Arkansas because there is an Ale Trail. We want a place to go to tour craft breweries. We want to go try them out, taste some brews, even though there are breweries in Tulsa, there is not anything like this. So for our bachelor party, we had to come to Fayetteville, Arkansas.

The two bachelor parties I've been to up here we went to Bottom's Up to revel in sleaze and depravity. Also the Bottom's Up butterflies. Those small but hardy cockroaches that wander onto the stage.
Preferably any bachelor party in Fayetteville should start at Bottom's Up, and then end at a craft brewery as you try to forget what just happened.

I'll be covering Brewtober and chilifest tomorrow night at St. Raphael's in Springdale.
It's a chili cook off and homebrew tasting. Tickets are $25 I believe.
It's from 5-9:30 at the church, Sunset and West End Avenues.

The Core on Mall Ave has been desolate lately. Not sure why, it seems like a good location in Uptown. Hopefully they can find a way to stay there
